talkingbaws has a fantastic team of writers providing consistently brilliant content leading to a diverse and informative website. Here are those that make an editors job the easiest one in the world:
Jonny Boyle – Editor: Creator and Editor of talkingbaws, I wanted to create a medium for writers who genuinely loved the game to express their opinions on all the weird and wonderful facets of football. I contribute heavily to the content of the site and genuinely hope that talkingbaws can develop a strong following in the future. Twitter – @beanroll
Daniel Caw – Assistant Editor: An up and coming writer, Danny has been published in fourfourtwo, IBWM, The Away End and the Core Magazine among others. A general all-rounder, he is as versatile as Jackie McNamara – you’ll see him all over the website. Twitter – @DannyCaw
Jonny Ogg – Assistant Editor: His hair is a huge hit with the ladies and his puns are second to none on the podcast. Jonny has been an integral part of the podcast since its inception and will be developing the up and coming culture and kit page as well as editing for the site. Twitter – @jonnyogg14
Gino De Blasio – Assistant Editor: He drinks more espresso’s than is medically possible, but this is probably what keeps him writing. His passions are football, food, sport and writing – so expect some “interesting” pieces along the way. (We warn you he is a Milan fan, but fair and balanced, which is rare!) Twitter – @ginodb
Vinnie Brownlow: The ‘funnyman’ of the website, Vinnie has a background in amateur writing and takes a rather odd look at the things he finds important in the game. Twitter – @vincentbrownlow
Paul Boyle: First foray in to producing football articles but has a real passion for tackling the serious subjects. Makes up the majority of the ‘Talking Baws’ section, Paul takes a different look at the serious stuff in world football. Twitter – @PabloEscoboyle
Nicky Boyle: The ‘talkingbaws tipster’, Nicky has the primary goal of making the punters money. Whether or not he is any good remains to be seen. He has shown promise in a 3 coupon run he went on in Christmas 2011 and if he can recapture that form, could be a major player in the talkingbaws writing team. Twitter – @bbopshakur
Steven Hutchison: If anything, Steven has one of the best haircuts of any writer you’ll find on the site. It is his knack for story-telling and not his hair however which make him such a good writer and you will find most of his work on the ‘Talking Funny’ pages. Twitter – @DavieSbutchy
Sam Crocker: A young student with a passion for football, writing and procrastination, finding his way in the blogosphere. Covers mainly French football but dabbles in English Premier League coverage as well. Should talk a fair load of nonsense on the site whenever the mood arises. Twitter – @SB_Crocker
Kyran Wallace: Heir to the talkingbaws tipster throne, Kyran is a Scottish expert with particular focus on the Old Firm. Away from fixing Canon cameras, Rangers, Brian Laudrup and looking for new football boots take up most of his spare time. Twitter – @kyrano14
Xander Friedlander: Ajax fan living in London and serial ranter for Dutch football on the website. Full of interesting views with a certain amount of fair bias towards his beloved Amsterdam club. Twitter – @clogboy
Adam Keal: A PR and reputation consultant by trade, Adam will examine the beautiful game from behind the scenes, analysing the media, brand and communications issues that have such a big say in the modern game. Twitter – @adamkeal
Rob Boulton: Passionate Manchester United supporter and former season ticket holder at Old Trafford until his 2 children entered the world and disrupted his match-going opportunities! Still gets to as many games as finances and work allow. Has also had articles published in respected fanzine United We Stand. Happy to talk United all day every day, but likes to think of himself as slightly more rounded than that and able to give honest, balanced views on all aspects of the greatest game in the world.
Marc Eadie: All round football geek, Marc is often found engrossed deep in the statistical side of football matches and analysing the tactical aspects of the game. His love for maths (really) and football also makes him a keen punter, especially on lower league English football. Twitter – @Eadie84
Anthony Horan: A solicitor by day, but a passionate football fan always, Anton has a lot to say on the beautiful game. You’ll see from his early work that he’s able to get his point across well and no subject is too abstract for the Celtic man. Twitter – @AntonH67
Henry Tydeman: 18-year-old writer with a season ticket at Brighton’s new Amex stadium, who’s contributed to the club’s match day programme and the official Albion fan’s forum blog. Away from the Seagulls, Henry’s interested in pretty much any football-related story going, and, when writing about the beautiful game, is particularly keen to question whether ‘popular opinion’ (e.g. ‘Redknapp for England) is always right. Twitter - @HenryTydeman
Tom Wilde: Another of the new signings, Tom also studies journalism but in Glasgow. With a soft spot for Real Madrid, a lot of his work focuses on Spain. Don’t let that fool you though, as he a good grasp of a wide range of football subjects. Twitter - @twilde91
Dave Martinez: The second best Martinez after Roberto, Dave is an online blogging journeyman. An experienced writer and keen admirer of the English Premier League, Dave will form a big part of the talkingbaws team. Twitter – @snez10
Kierean Boyle: You’ll struggle to find something he likes (besides his girlfriend and food), but football is one of the things he can stomach. Loves Roman Riquelme, Zinedine Zidane and any sort of trick and you can usually find him ranting about something or talking complete nonsense on our page with a similar title. Twitter – @Kierean
Alex Kohnert: A bit of football mongrel, having lived in the Middle East, Netherlands and even the darkest northern regions of Scotland, Alex’s football influences are eclectic to say the least. After 20 years of being a hopelessly gangly and immobile centre-back (think Per Mertesacker, but without the heading ability) decided to have a crack at football writing, which he could actually do. As the back story dictates, will talk practically anything to avoid having to get a real job. Twitter – @alexkohnert
Michael Clark: The newest member of the squad, born and raised in the Highlands. He is one of many Inverness Caledonian Thistle fans who were born before the club’s formation. Michael’s footballing interests are vast, varying from the Spanish League to the MLS, from the Scottish Premier League to the English Championship and further beyond. Twitter – @MClark1309
Frank Lopapa: Frank focuses mostly on Serie A, but is totally comfortable talking about South American football as well. He has been featured in Serie A Weekly, Forza Italian Football and In Bed With Maradona. When he isn’t watching football, reading about football, writing about football, or playing football, he is probably looking for a “real” job. Twitter – @fnlopapa
Chris Franklin: Chris is a passionate Aston Villa fan and current English Literature and Creative Writing student at De Montfort University. Chris believes he is the next undiscovered Jose Mourinho. Talking Baws will be his first foray into published article writing. A keen footballer himself, his areas of expertise are Premier League football, all things Midlands football and also interesting stories from in and around amateur Sunday morning football. Twitter – CFranklin84
Fraser Lawrie: Fraser is a 19-year-old journalism student from Glasgow with a soft spot for Milan. He enjoys writing and playing many sports around doing what he loves most…’talking baws’! Twitter – @fraser_lawrie
Alistair Walker: Alistair is 23, graduated from university with a nonsense degree, and currently living back at home on the Isle of Lewis. He’s just started a new job as a journalist for a local paper – hopefully the first step on the ladder to the World Cup and Wimbledon finals. Huge Man Utd and Andy Murray fan but generally an all-round sports fanatic. Particularly interested in football, tennis, cycling and the NFL. Host my own sports blog at: http://naturalpolice.wordpress.com Occasional contributor to BT Life’s A Pitch too.Twitter – @AliWalker24
Andy Bargh: Andy is 18 and a Celtic and Blackburn fan. Scotland die-hard also. He studies journalism at Glasgow Caledonian and holds Zinedine Zidane and Henrik Larsson as his footballing heroes. Been ‘talking baws’ since near the start. Twitter: @andy_bargh
Adam Baldwin: He’s a student studying Journalism at the University of Portsmouth. Big Arsenal fan who had some experience writing sport articles for local papers but this is his first shot at feature writing specifically for football. Always keen to ask the questions others are afraid of asking e.g. Wenger’s time up? Twitter – adambaldwin92
Diogo Pombo: Sports journalist coming from Portugal, Diogo sees football as his fuel rather than an addiction. Finds a story to tell in every rounded one that is kicked. Specialises on the disregarded Portuguese football, the ever-surprising Premier League and an overhyped La Liga. Expect playful words and nerdy knowledge, along with a noticeable passion. Twitter: @PomboDiogo
